I can easily imagine myself becoming addicted to YouTube, quitting my job and spending the rest of my life watching fake amateur video blogs or kids robot dancing.
In fact I’ve just spent that last 5 minutes watching a guy who took a picture of himself everyday for the past 6 years then spliced it all up together – it’s hypnotic.
This is the very essence of what the web is about and thanks to broadband being the norm I think we’re going to see blogs replaced with video blogs over the next year.
We’ve already seen Matt Cutts blogging via Google Video. I find this along with podcasting a much better way of getting my blog-style information as it means I don’t have to read. I don’t think I’m alone in disliking reading too much on screen and my blogroll is far too long that I skim over virtually everything these days.
Kind of makes explaining code difficult, though… ;)
(PS: your layout is totally borked in all browsers at the moment)
YouTube and WordPress do not mix at all. No matter what I seemed to do, WordPress altered the Flash code and broke my layout.
As far as explaining code is concerned, Dustin Diaz is already screencasting code examples so it is possible.
