In order for Phil to cost your website project it is essential that you prefer a detailed brief:
Web applications
If you are looking to develop a web application (for reference: a web application is a site like Facebook, or TripAdvisor as opposed to a traditional website) then this brief will have to be really quite detailed and go into descriptions of how each screen in your web application should work.
Phil can assist you with this aspect of the project and, with his professional experience, consult with you to ensure your concept is fully formed and will work as a web application.
A lot of clients approach Phil but don’t want to reveal the nature of their ‘top secret’ web application. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to provide an accurate costings without knowing the intimate details about the concept.

(Traditional) Websites
For ‘traditional’ websites, a brief should include: the number of pages – doesn’t have to be exact a rough idea is a good start; whether you have an existing website or need a brand new one; if you require design services it is always useful to list a number of rival websites that you admire – not so that you can copy them more so that Phil can gain a better understanding of what you like aesthetically and what you’re trying to achieve.
